Statement
For this piece I used a canvas with a painting I had done when I was 16 as a background for a new image of a simple study of some of the plants my mother keeps in our living room. Because my supply of paint was low I decided to try other mediums to create similar effects. While this was a fun process it was ultimately more trouble than it was worth as I have several other canvases now covered in a mixture of Kool-Aid and lotion looking – and smelling – bad, to say the least. I do find it interesting however that the effect of the lotion lead to an almost oil paint texture and shine that does in some ways enhance the painting.
