Statement
This piece represents an interpretation of a reoccurring dream. Similar to the dream, this piece offers a sense of darkness and discomfort through character expression and extreme contrast in light. While I often take inspiration from my observations, for this piece I was inspired to illustrate a scene of my own thoughts in order to better understand the meaning behind it.  I was inspired to express the scene with dream-like qualities in order to encourage others to interpret my piece as they would a dream of their own.
