For my public art piece: I think it is always important to notice beauty in the things around you, especially in an era and location (college campus) where people are engrossed with their phones and responsibilities. Sometimes people need something to prompt them to look around and appreciate where they are. This is amplified by recent events. Everyone was pent up for months during quarantine and isolation, so now I think it is even more important for everyone to stop and take in their environment when they get a chance to be out of the house. I hope these pieces help people to not take the enjoyment of the everyday for granted.
