Class of 2022
Art + Design Major
Statement
This piece was created before the pandemic and finished during. My class had already been passed online and I had to spend many days in the school’s studio to finish it. It was done for the pure intent of demonstrating the flower’s true beauty and radiant color. I wanted to have contrast and have the focus entirely on the flower. After I finished it, I hanged it up in my living room, where I was able to see it as the world around me fell into a pandemic. This painting was and is a reminder of light and beauty, even in dark times.
