Statement
Palm Springs
Palm Springs is renowned for its large collection of historical Mid Century Modern architecture. This art and design movement derives from the revolutionary concepts introduced by the Bauhaus movement which emphasizes the beauty in simplicity. Palm Springs was a frontier in the turn of the century Mid-century design movement in America. This culmination is why Palm Springs remains a preserved piece of design history. The combination of unique nostalgic retro architecture with beautiful desert landscapes is what makes Palm Springs one of a kind.
For my thesis project, I wanted to try and capture the unique spirit of Palm Springs in a tangible photo book. Along with photos I have taken I used fonts and colors that pay homage to Mid Century Modern Design. My hope was to create a book that would inspire an appreciation for this place and design within it.
