For my public art piece: The idea of the project is to convey a sense of sadness, melancholy and a warning. Like the proverbial poison apple, fame and glamour is tempting, but can be dangerous if handled incorrectly. Hollywood can be dangerous, especially to women, to whom fame can have much darker consequences. To properly convey the message and the stories of these women, this quilt includes more famous cases such as Sharon Tate, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, and Natalie Wood. The idea is that people will make a connection between the starlets that they know and will be prompted to look up the stories of the other more obscure women.
